Carl Arendt's Small Layout Scrapbook down
Does anyone know how long the Small Layout Scrapbook site has been down? I was on it a week or two ago but it now shows that the website is no longer there. I hope that it's just a temporary thing as it's one of my favorite modelling sites.

Latest video - Layout Update #3
I thought some might enjoy our latest video! Layout Progress Update #3
In this one we go over some of the on-layout equipment we will use including track, turnouts, controls and we touch on scene development.

Is it just me, or is anybody else having problems searching on the new Walthers site? UPDATE 7/20 - THEY FIXED IT
**UPDATE 7-20-16 Walthers fixed the problem. Thanks to Tom O. for letting us know.
** UPDATE 6-23-16 Walthers answered my email about their site. Please see the answer later in this thread.
I just went on the Walthers site to search for something and find the new interface not user friendly at all! I'm looking for a "truck scale" and can't find a thing. Here's an example of what I'm hoping to find:

A blast from the past - vintage TV commerical with some model trains.
Man, it brings back some great memories!

Operation
Not All of Us Operate in the Same Way
I have liked to operate on a model railroad most of my life. Unfortunately, for three decades I did not have a layout on which to operate. So, I operated from time to time on other folk's layouts. What I learned is that most people with a reasonable size layout operate their layouts as a somewhat large section of a railroad. They pride themselves on how many trains they can get over the road in a evening or day or operation. I learned that I never felt enough realism when operating in this way.
Spray booth
I see a lot of small spray booths on Ebay for under $100.00 & wondered if these are any good? See link to one of these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AW-Portable-Airbrush-Paint-Spray-Booth-Kit-Pro-Paint-Set-w-Turn-Table-Powerful-/262489769853?hash=item3d1d9c077d:g:maUAAOSwnNBXZhxj
