Layout tour

The Chessie System in Michigan, a layout of my own.

I must start this with a bit of backstory, my name is Sandy Saunders and I live in Worcester, England.  For the last twenty years or so I have been a member of an N Scale modular group (Snake Bend - link) and have found it enjoyable and fulfilling.

Building the Somerset Railroad in 1980

At the beginning of this year, I started a blog documenting the construction of Somerset Junction in HO Scale.  Set in 1980, it is a modern(ish) proto-freelance take on the junction between the Somerset and the Canadian Pacific.  Photos documenting this project can be found by following the link below.  Enjoy if you choose to follow along.

First Look: 3-D Printed REA Express Building for Union Station

After mostly finishing Union Station, I got to looking at the REA Express Building just to the right of the station.  I had originally planned on using  a printed paper facade glued to foam board and decided that the building really needed to be 3-D to complement the main station.  So over the last couple of weeks, I designed and 3-D printed the building as shown in the video above.

A 4 by 8 for Thecad and other newbies

This is a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood that didn't grow.  It has provided plenty of enjoyment for the forty five years I've had the pleasure of visiting and operating it.  It remains covered most of the time now.  When the great grandchildren are a little older I'm sure that it will come to life a little more regularly.  The cover works well, no dust and easily removed!

Video from the FREMO regional meeting at Hanau

A couple of weeks ago, I visited the FREMO regional meeting at Hanau near Frankfurt. I made a video during my visit. But I had to remove the first one because of the bad quality.

Here you could see the new version.

I hope you enjoy the video.
