Best plaster for scenery
Hi all.
I made the mistake of using drywall mud for scenery and, I now know, that was a bad choice. I chose it because it comes premixed but it took forever to dry and now it's got huge cracks and is crumbling. What's a good alternative?
Thanks in advance.

What 3d Printer
To all,
A few of us are pooling our money together to get a 3D printer and we are looking for help on what would work best for us here are some detail:
Modeling G to N scale.
Only one of us has worked with a CAD program and would like to find a program that is easy to use for all user.
One question we have is why is one printer better then other.
Any help or suggestion would be helpful our budget is about $2500

Photo / Image Software Questions
I am wondering about what software program would be a reasonable all around program to use in my model railroading projects. I would like to be able to:
1. create logos and signs for decals etc
2. edit photo's for use on backdrops (resize, remove sky and other objects, etc.)
Digitrax DB150
The track status light is out and I don't have power to my tracks. The power is getting to the DB150 - hope this doesn't mean that I'm up for a new one. Long way from my home to Digitrax too. Any clues as to what can be tried to fix this problem? It is a few years old. Thanks. Tom
Saving railroad history
I'll just throw this out there because I'm feeling quite pleased with the result. I've recently returned to model railroading after too long an absence. I recently retired and have begun a modest layout; I'm finding I feel an urgent need to accomplish some things before I'm too old to do them.

Stack Focusing
After taking pictures outside with my unfinished diorama a close look at the pictures shows very little depth of field, I discovered I had my F stop setting wrong. I had forgotten that a large F stop number closes the iris down for better depth of field. I also discover that the Cannon Power Shot SX20IS only has a max setting of F8. Hardly good for great field of depth. So off I went searching for a Stack focusing program. I found one here.
Portable, temporary HO layout that can exist outdoors
Aloha all,
Here's the nuts and bolts. Summer means very little indoor model railroading (especially in the Northern climates where summer means the outside is finally celebrated with less than 5 layers of clothing).
