Painting Sheep for My BlackStone Stock Cars
I finally Found some sheep for my stock cars and they each need painting as they are all pure white. Anybody ever see pure white Sheep other than Marys' ?
I have been looking for 3 years for sheep for my stock cars. A little more that 15 months ago I found 2 packs of 4 sheep each pre painted for $8.49 and said no way!! Some body out there has to make un-painted sheep in bulk for less money.

Kato announces 22 year old loco
I think that it's cool to have the Kato GP38 back, but I wish it was an updated GP50

Understanding a track diagram
I recently obtained track diagrams from the area I am planning to model. The problem I have is I don't know what half of the things on the diagram mean. Can anyone walk me through what is on the diagram?
I've numbered some of the things I don't know in yellow:

Recommendations for Free or VERY cheap portable image database software (windows)?
Hi,
I would like to find a free or cheap image cataloging program that allows keyword searching and is very portable. Some minimal image resizing, rotation, and export functionality would be nice but not required.

Two Story Farmhouse
Recently I did a "show & tell" of my homemade static grass applicator at the Piedmont meeting (NMRA). I wanted to show what the device could do, so I created a little diorama using my 2 story farmhouse (by AMB) that I had previously built. This structure will probably occupy the residential district of Hoovertown that is presently under construction.

The Double Slip doubles my operational possibilities!
Although arguing the relative merits of NMRA logos past, present, and future is fun I thought it might be worthwhile to share a small change to my layout that has increased operational possibilities exponentially as a result. Due to the generosity of a new model railroading friend I've made the acquaintance of through people I've met on these forums I was able to acquire a hand laid #4 double slip turnout to replace one of the regular #4's on my layout. The before and after can be seen in the track plans below (apologies they

Adding sound to an N scale loco
I had initially planned to do this to submit as an article for MRH, but it didn't quite work out. However, so much effort was put in to it and I'm so happy with the results, I just had to do a blog about it to hopefully encourage others to just try something, even when you don't have a clue. Again, I'll keep this opening short so it won't be long to scroll through if it gets to multiple pages.

What DCC system do you use - and why?
I'm curious what DCC system various modelera on here are using, and why? I think the discussion could be useful - so post a bit about the system you use and how you came to chose it. Also if you have any interesting learnings, that's always helpful!
