Detailing Reading GP39-2s & MP15s (pictures repaired)
In addition to my Reading C424s, I also have some of Reading's last engines.
The engine that started my Reading modeling, an Atlas MP15. The stock model needed little extra detail. I only added the Sinclair radio antenna, Reading drip strips, the footboards and speed recorder.

Modular Railroad Design
Hello All,
Here is the problem our Club is facing on building a new HO Scale Layout.
The layout is approx 25 ft in length and 15 feet deep shaped as a large D. The layout is modular with the large straight section being modules 4 feet deep, and the rest of the layout having 30-36 inch modules in width. The modules vary from 4-6 feet in length. It will have a double track mainline running through the modules around the layout.
The members want a modular/permanent layout. Any thoughts out there on pro's & con's.

What decoders are avalaible?
Jim Boyd
Saw a post on Trainorders today that Jim Boyd has passed away.
Many will know him from Carstens and many railfan videos.
My best to his friends and family.

Dual Frog Juicer
I just saw the new Dual Frog Juicer on FastTracks website. I'm still not a DCC expert, but I need an autoreverser soon and this fills the bill at the same price as the AR1. However, the bonus with the Dual Frog Juicer is you could also use it to power one of the following: 1. two frogs, 2. crossover, 3, wye, or 4. turntable or it can be used as a circuit breaker in a power district, though that's not all that important to me. It can't do it all at the same time, but the flexibility is certainly something that is appealing at the same price point as the AR1.

It's Blue!!!
I know the sky blue paint I put on the walls on Monday
Blue, your comment reminded me to make this post. I too am elated that progress is being made on the LK&O. Well, at least on the LK&O right-of-way. I find myself standing in the room staring at the blue walls with my imagination running at notch 8. What do you guys think of the color choice?

Need feedback on two products I'm considering
Hi folks.
I've recently started a couple loco builds. I have a few blue box Athearn and Rail Power locos, along with the accompanying detail parts, that I've had for some time. I want to go ahead and build them so I can focus on the more up-to-date loco models available now that require less mods for appearance and smooth operation.
My Questions:
DCC Bus Wire
Why not use the readily available uninsulated ground wire for bus wires, rather than fooling around stripping insulation or using crimp-on connecters? It would make soldering the feed wires for the track straight forward and easy. I ask this because I am dreaming up bench work and plan to build the bus wires in.

BDL168 Installation- Kamloops Division Point Staging Detection
Well, it's been a long time since I posted on my layout's progress... or lack of progress, whatever the case may be. I am hoping that posting my progress on my installation of the detection portion of my staging yard will keep me more motivated and hopefully I will complete this sooner than later.
