Tam Valley servos

I just started installing Tam Valley servos on my n-scale layout and had problems programming their addresses.  I sent an email to Tam Valley and had a quick reply that boiled down to "read the instructions."

E-Z Commander turnouts

Does anyone have any experience with the Bachman E-Z Commander turnouts with built in switch motors and DCC controllers?

Union Pacific Technical Drawings

Hello everyone, this is my first post to the forums.  I figured what way better than to share some drawings I found a few days ago while researching.  They are Union Pacific Engineering drawings of just about anything to do with trackwork, like roadbed, track design, turnouts, road crossings, switch stands, etc.  They are all PDF files, and just click on the title of the section to see them.  These were adopted in 1998 and were revised in 2004.  Hope somebody else can use them as well.

atlas code 83 turnouts

What are the best turnouts for a 2x10 shelf layout?    atlas #4 or #6 turnout?

My motive power are GP's and I have some 24,000 gallons  tank cars and  40' open hoppers.

Anybody have information on Jiffy Railer

I have heard about a product called "Jiffy Railer" being sold out of Arizona. The company is not a registered business in Arizona, I have not been able to find a website, person's name, e-mail, or phone number associated with this product. Does anyone have any experience with this company and product or is it just vapor ware?

Thanks

Atlas 12.5 degree code 87 crossover -- mystery bits

Bought two Atlas #571 crossovers. On opening the package there was a little envelop with four small metal bits, same for the second crossover. Does anyone have a clue as to what these are for? The Atlas packaging and website are silent on this topic. They are way too small to be joiners - and there were regular joiner strips in the box. This is HO code 83, by the way.

Thanks.

JL&T Railroad Blog - Track Laying & Scenery...

Hi All,

Well I'd thought I would start another blog post on the track laying & scenery construction for the J&L Railway.  I have started the top deck track laying over the past few weeks so that I can get some track down and also start running some trains and really get stuck into getting some of the railroad down.

n scale track spiking

What has anyone here used to fasten track down on their layout??? I seem to be having truoble finding spikes small enough to go thru the tiny hole already drilled in the ties. If the spikes are too big then they split the plastic ties and it looks bad. Or are you using a different method altogether to hold the track down?? I will be using cork roadbed under the track.
