Scenery - Structures
Bit by Bit . . .
Building by building, I'm almost finding creating the pulp and paper mill easier than when I previously tried to model an entire layout. I generally became overwhelmed and discouraged at trying to build a miniature world; planning and completing one building at a time is much more rewarding - I can always see light at the end of the tunnel.
OC Bridge Project (Ohio Connecting)
Hi everyone,
I am working on a model of the OC Bridge. Follow along and lend some advice.
Thanks,
Scratchbuilt HO Paper Mill in Progress . . .
Seeing Caboose 14's outstanding looking paper mill, I thought I'd sneak in with an HO pulp mill I've been scratchbuilding. I currently don't have room for a layout, but am building the mill, piece by piece, and storing the individual projects until I can finally bring them together in one module. I originally named the mill for the fictitious Johns Bay Paper Corp., but after seeing another model that was artfully decorated with realistic Georgia Pacific signs, I decided PBP was going to be bought out by Crown Zellerbach (if for no other reason than because I l
Greenpoint Dock and Transfer Company - Consolidated Commercial Printing
I started mocking up another structure on my railroad before the long weekend. It is a rail served commercial printer who receives newsprint in box cars and ships finished materials via truck (not modeled) and rail. My idea for the structure is loosely based on an old factory near where I lived (sorry, but I don't have any pictures but here it is
Cripplebush Rubber Rocks: Your Experiences/Pics/Duration of?
I'm considering Cripplebush's rubber rocks for my mountain range. I need to decide soon whether to use plaster castings or not. If they look as realistic in real life as they do in pics I'm impressed with the product.
My main concern is that the laytex rubber will hold up to household heating, cooking moisture, etc. over many years without drying/cracking/powdering.
This area of the layout will be extremely possible to work on once the roundhouse and turntable are installed.

A continuation to the story following my progress of the Central Vermont RR's Barre Branch layout's construction.
Ghost River Update & Pictures 2012
Guess I'm a bit over due for an update on the happenings around Ghost River.
Lots of progress has been made in the motive power department and in the scenery department. I received my decals from Rail Graphics last week and now have decals on all of my Ghost River steamers. Rolling stock is next. I've also just finished my two truck MDC Shay after working on it for the past year. It runs very well and is quite quiet for an MDC. Here's a picture of the little gaffer pulling into Camp 1 on my upper level.
Help needed Walthers kit instructions
Hello everyone!
I'm hoping to get a little assistance.
I just received a Walthers kit, the Allied Rail Rebuilders, kit number 933-3016.
It is missing its instruction sheet. Does anyone have a set they could copy and mail to me? (USA)
I'm sure I could muddle through it ok, but I'd feel better with the instructions.
The kit is retired, Walthers can't help. Hopefully someone here can.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff
HO Scale Sea Wall
I'm looking for a steel sea wall in HO scale similar to what Brawa used to sell for my car float scene but I can only find one product out there (the Brawa wall no longer exists? At least I can't find it anywhere...) which is pre-weathered and not really what I'm after.
Any help would be appreciated!
