Scenery - Structures
some new train sheds and photoshop fun
I recently started replacing the train sheds at LAUPT with the more recent Walther's kits. Got to playing around in photoshop afterwards:
I really love LA film noir, so I may try a few more of this style perhaps under more controlled lighting next time.

Scale size street lighting
I need recommendations for HO street lamps. I had some Model Power lights but they did not look right. No wonder the base is a scale 3 feet in diameter.
Does anyone have a better solution? I currently have the Woodland Scenics non working metal castings that really look correct. But do not light.
While I am at it stop lights too. Era is 60's to 70's, local rural/urban.
More tunnel work - and lots of photos
I've updated my blog again - with lots more photos of the tunnel work I'm doing. It's kinda hard to make tunnels look realistic, so I'm attempting some new ideas, and also focusing on visual separation and tricks, and on building believable terrain shapes around the tunnels.

Middlesex Mfg. Co. kitbash
Photos of my latest project. It is a kitbash of the Atlas Middlesex Mfg. Co. It is the second to last building I need to build for the Green Bay Industrial District on my CNW HO scale railroad. I will post more photos after I complete it.
#1 - Pieces parts set approx. where the building will sit.
#2 - Original front & larger end wall spliced together. original pieces from the other end wall, used for the return walls.
#3 - Bottom, middle floor & new roof piece. Tubing for lights.
Locomotive
I have a Lionel Locomotive in a box for 25 years. It will run in reverse but in forward it will only hum and throw sparks.
Portals ???
Anyone care to take a guess as to what they think these "originally" were, what they are made of and where you might find them ? Think hard.
To the best of my knowledge you cannot buy them at your LHS. However, under the right conditions you could come across them and and not believe your good fortune.

Tunnels!
I've finally reached the point of needing to build tunnels - the blog entry below shows my portal-painting attempts and roughed in scenery. It's been a load of fun, and yet another new skill to work on.
