Bridges, Bridges and More B.....

This is the last of the three section of bridges in this area of the Grande Pacific that I am currently working on.  Will put five pictures of Cripple Creek and the three bridges that cross the creek.  Will do step by step video of all.

What is This?

I am busy building a Juneco Models Cartierville station kit for the Cornhill & Atherton RR

There are a lot of detailed castings supplied with the kit, but I am at a loss as to what one item is.

See below sitting on the platform – looks like 2 oil drums mounted on a frame, one with a basket on top and a coffee pot sitting in between.

Richlawn RR V2 - Palmer Structure - kitbash of Walther's Gas Plant

*** UPDATED 9-8-14 *** Scroll down to see additional work on the structure.

It doesn't look like much, but I'm making (slow) progress on the Palmer structure for my layout.  I've got the walls cut out and a few other details in the works.  It's a good thing I don't try to make a living doing this!

What size mesh for a Static Grass Applicator.

Hi.

I am about to start making a static grass applicator using a positive ion generator that I have. I understand the electronics and the mechanics of making the applicator but don't know how the mesh size relates to the fibres length. What would be the recomended mesh size for say 2, 5, 7 and 10 mm fibres? I will be able to make more than one mesh so would like to match mesh to fibres.

Coal Loader Part 2

Well today was able to work a bit more on the coal loader this morning. Having a few issues with the directions though. It says after gluing the four corner braces in place to "drill #76 holes, pre-paint large N/B/W casting and glue in place." . What the heck is a N/B/W ? The parts list, lists all castings as the metal bits none are N/B/W. the plastic parts do list N/B/W, but the only bit I see is the flood light shade. I'll press on with assembly, sure to figure it out later. I can a least follow mostly with the drawings.

Ballasting the Trenton Yard

I have finally progressed to the ballasting stage in the Trenton Freight Yard, on my Trenton Subdivision in N Scale.

I find working in small patches, allows me to focus on  one section and the glue/water mixture time to set before moving on to the adjoining section.

With such a large area to ballast it forms a checker board effect.  Once the section is dry, I then ballast the area between the two.

Banta Modelworks building

Hoping I can get some feedback on Banta Modelworks buildings. Im looking at getting their

O scale Shortline Water Tank Kit and the Ridgeway sanding  kit.

Question is-  has anybody built Banta kits, how well do they go together, do they have a  steep learning curve?

Regards Phil
