Life-Like Proto 2000 GP38-2 decoder installation
Switching gears to HO scale now, I have two Proto 2000 GP 38-2s that I want to put a decoder in each of them. These are older and do not have the socket for a pin decoder. Which one out there is the best? I thought I saw one from TCS that had back EMF where using it would not require me to get new headlight bulbs, but I cannot find the decoder.

Room Size Layout Electrical Needs
Good evening all. I am looking to embark on the "lifetime layout" journey this winter. I have never built a basement size layout before. The unfinished side of my basement will finally begin to house my dream railroad - 25' x 30' double deck Erie Lackawanna Marion 2nd Sub circa 1964. I'm planning on installing the necessary electrical, drywall and drop ceiling this winter so as to begin bench work and track laying next fall.
DCC issues with two locomotives with Digitrax Decoders
I was cleaning the wheels on two locomotives (N scale). One was the Atlas GP-38-2 and the other was the Kato F-7A.
DCC throttle keeps going back to zero
I have a DT400 Digitrax throttle and lately I have noticed an aggravating issue. I will be running a train, and the throttle will just reset itself back to zero speed, without me touching it. I will move the throttle knob back up to the speed i want and within a short period of time it will once again set itself back to zero. The throttle is plugged into Loconet. Its not on battery and has no battery installed. When I use any other throttle like a UT4 it works just fine. Anyone run into this problem?
Sprog3
Let's assume I know little to nothing about DCC (very accurate assumption). Instead of programming CVs numerically, I want to use a plug-and-play graphical interface.
Exactly what does a Sprog3 do?
What do I need to program using DecoderPro-style? Have a laptop and a test track, but what needs to go between them?
Cost is a consideration, of course.

Which dcc decoder has the smallest footprint( physical size).
Any and every scale.
