Starting to work on my Pacific Electric interurbans
Today, I sanded down the flash on my Miniatures By Eric Pacific Electric 1100-1149 interurban and 1445-1449 Box Motor. I noticed that I am missing the steps below the freight doors of the freight motor, and it looks like I can use Micro Trains baggage car steps. I have sanded down the flash and I have been working on the castings for the 1100, and plan to start gluing everything into place. I have ordered a pair of Tomix chassis to power these.
Decal for Steel Mill Detail
Please forgive me...I don't have a picture...you will need your imagination for this idea. I saw things at steel mills over my career but did not take pics to document them.
My idea for a mini decal for detailing a steel mill switcher comes from Weirton WV Steel operations. I once loaded coils out of several doors at the mill. One loco had decals of trucks under the engineers window.
80's Atlas/Kato DC loco issue
In an attempt to install a DCC decoder in an old Atlas/Kato DC 'RS11' that I kit bashed into a CP Rail 'RS18u' 25 some odd Years ago.. I had clear instructions how to do so with the exact same model in the Model Railroader 'DCC Corner' column. However, after taking off the shell and starting to remove the lighting off the top of the motor I opened the Lok-Sound decoder box and noticed I was shipped a decoder for a ready for DCC model. Miscommunication, fairplay. But I wanted to get the locomotive back on track. I run a dual DC/DCC system on my layout.
Build Date: 3-21?
The image wasn't as good as I had hoped but I believe this tank car has a build date of 3-21.
Would that be correct?

Geared steam's Help Needed
I had one of those old Roundhouse Climax kits and finally decided to scrap the original useless chassis and motor and put the great climax body on top of a Bachmann 44 ton switcher, following Geared Steam's original description from way back when on his blog. Thanks! But I have run into a bit of a problem and need your advice. Take a look at these.
Funaor Seley Hopper Problems
I am building my first Funaro kit - the D and H modernized Seley hopper.
Tichy kit #4041
Can someone scan the instructions for Tichy kit #4041 war emergency gondola for me? That kit is not listed in Tichy's file of on-line instructions and a number of e-mails to them have yielded no response.

Swapping out couplers
I have a very small 0-4-0 dockside switcher that has the old style Rapido couplers. I'd like to swap them out for a newer knuckle style coupler. Not sure if it's possible, but if so, how difficult is it?
Thanks-Tim
