Open doors on freight depot type structures
Hi all. First time posting.
I have searched this forum but I have not found an answer to this question yet so apologies if it has been asked before.
I have an HO freight depot that I am building and I want to add an interior kit from ITLA Models but I am not sure how the doors on the kit should be positioned. Should they swing out, swing in, or slide open?
interior photos for shop storefronts
I contacted Clever Models because it was mentioned here that they might add photos of interiors to be adhered on the inside of storefronts, businesses, etc. I contacted them and told that they are not pursuing that project because another company was doing them already. Anyone know who that might be, or any other ideas as to do realistic window treatments. Thank you

Graffiti Painters
I didn't want to clog the October 21 workbench with this infomercial but with all the attention to modern graffiti ModelU in the UK has scanned and is 3d printing a series of graffiti spraying artists/hoodlums in case you want to depict them caught on camera in the act. They will on request print them in 3.5 MM/HO scale and US 1:160 N scale. They are expensive and postage is almost a killer but if you want to depict the act in progress these will do the trick.
How to place guard rails on bridge
I found this modern pic of a bridge with guard rails,
but don't know how they should be placed on my 50's bridge.
roof caps, and roof soffits? Advice needed
I'm beginning to make some structures for my layout and finding many of my kits have poor model roofs. Feeling that roofs are so visible and thus important, I intend to replace with sealed seam metal roof and asphalt roof sheets from Evergreen, Micromark, respectively.
Question though: How do you experienced modelers solve for the roofcaps necessary on these roofs, how do you fabricate the roofcaps and what strip styrene do you use? (I'm modeling in styrene, not wood).
AK Interactive Concrete
Has anyone used it in HO? All the videos I've seen of it being applied come out very coarse looking, too much for HO. I'm looking to apply a concrete finish to a station platform.

Searching for paper signs
Because I don't like the shiny look of decals, I am searching for N scale signs that I could color print and add to my buildings.
Do you have files with those signs?

Modeling an old grain elevator
Hi everyone!
Here is a grain elevator I have been modeling for the last weeks. In fact, it was an easy model to build but I made a mistake by gluing the model in the wrong direction right at the beginning. I had to cut the base in two, sand it, glue it again and paint it.
Making steel plates out of paper and wax polish
I experimented with my wife's RubnBuff wax to create steel plates.
I just used my fingers to rub in it on the paper also paint to depict rust.
Just test fitting them and will later put some dents in them to show evidence of logs and drift wood colliding with them in the past.
Surface tension on ballast
Hello again,
I have a question with regard to the surface tension on securing ballast. Myself, I use 70% isopropyl alcohol and it works but I just watched a video were they used water and dish soap. If that's the case then I would save a few bucks and use that method.
Has anybody used the water method?
Thanx Steve Klein
