Walthers Turnout degree profile question
I'm planning on doing a crossing much like Bryon did in his article and need some information on Walthers turnouts. I specifically need to know the degree of diverging track for their #4, #6, and #8 turnouts. By this I mean is the diverging track on a #6 30%, or 25% or what?
Does anyone know this information or where I can get it? Thanks!
Rick

Track Bumpers
I'm feeling a little burned today. Over the past few days I've been getting a couple sections of track weathered and ballasted. A while back I ordered Walther's Hayes style track bumpers to use on some of my sidings. I ordered them based on this published image:
What I ended up getting was this (I'm halfway through painting them) which doesn't look anything like the image above:

Questions for Flashmaster Users
Hello –
I have some questions on use of the Flashmaster with optional optical sensor (#8004) two track arrangement. There are no sensors spliced (i.e six sensors).
All connections have been checked – as per instructions.
Circuitron DT-4 Rolling Stock Detector
Hey Guys I have 2 double ended staging tracks that are “blind”, not hidden as I have access to them from the other side of the backdrop. I was looking installing a Circuitron DT-4 Rolling Stock Detector since I can not see them when I operate.

Chuff cams
Has any body got any tips or advice on installing, selecting, using chuff-cams in Steamer applications? I am thinking of using one in my first install, but don't know much about it.
Sound and lighting without DCC
My 0 Gauge layout is quite large ant operates satisfactorily with DC.
I wish to add sound and lighting to some of my locos without using DCC.
I heard about Soundtraxx and QSI. Any advice will be welcomed.

Power District Wiring Options/Question
I have started laying track in my staging area and figured that I should start planning for power distribution sooner rather than later. This staging area is a 24' long "L" shape through staging. Each throat will be it's own power block as will each staging track and the through track. I will end up with 8 power blocks in this one power district. I am planning on using the Tam Valley Depot 5 Amp DCC Booster Board (DAB002) for power and a circuit breaker specifically for this power district.
Frog Juicer vs Turnout Motor Contacts
I am confronting wiring up the 40 odd turnouts in my layout and am curious as to the tradeoffs between using frog juicer circuitry to power my frogs or the switched contacts on the turnout motors? I am using both Tortoise motors and Atlas solenoids -- the later on the upper shelf of my layout. Motive power is pretty much all short wheelbase steam, so powered frogs to avoid turnout stalling seems pretty much mandatory. Using the contacts provides deterministic frog polarity where as the frog juicer appears indeterminate as it is driven by short detection.
