Dear MRH Luminaries, NCE and JMRI brainstrust,

T- 36 hours til my current project layout debuts at it's first show. While I've had the PwrCab rig for a while, this is it's first "use in anger", esp at a public show. I've checked both NCE and JMRI documentation, but hope someone can shed some light.

The issue as follows:
PwrCab + USB/JMRI interface = OK (both PwrCab and EngineDriver throttle active and responsive)

PwrCab + Cab04p = (both PwrCab and Cab04p active and responsive)

PwrCab + USB/JMRI + Cab04p = laggy/intermittent response from the Cab04p

JMRI Decoder Pro Roster Transfer

Has anyone successfully transferred complete roster data from JMRI's Decoder Pro from one computer to another using a memory stick?  I export the data from one computer to the memory stick and it seems like it has been copied properly. I then try to import the data into the new computer but nothing happens, it's like it does not exist.  Any ides on what I could be doing wrong? Thanks!

Thoughts on painting and weathering CVMW track

Hi all,

I am looking for opinions from other CVMW track users on how they have gone about painting and weathering their track.

I have seen how some paint the track sections prior to laying, and then also how some lay the unpainted track first then paint and ballast, then lay rails.

I am particularly after thoughts on using oil based or water based paints on the ties, and painting the rails either by airbrush or paint pens (Floquil/Woodland Scenics).

CV ties with code 55?

I see that the Central Valley ties are supposed to work with code 83 and code 70 rail.  Has anybody tried using them with code 55?  Specifically, I'm thinking of using Micro Engineering rail.

i have a 1" x 6" x 4'  stick of walnut and the means of milling to size.

   So,   i was wondering if there might be any concerns...   it should be air dried enough to use.

Plus the color might be close enough to not have to stain.

  any thoughts
