Track and electrical/DCC

Have 4 TCS T1 decoders all behaving badly

Using a Zephyr DCS 51 with a programming track.

Bought (4) TCS  T1's  put three of them in older yarders. reset their CV's to 111, 222, 333, 444.

111,222,333 all can operate in forward and reverse. The white wire is front light and it is on the minute I put the loco on the track. No rear (Yellow light) ever lights. Have moved all three decoders from one loco to another and the same occurs.

Any experience with LokSound Select or v4 DCC decoders?

I am looking for comments from those who have used, installed, or studied the LokSound v4 decoders. I am considering using a LokSound v4 micro in a older Walthers SW-1. I think it might be my best bet for getting sound in the SW-1.

I started another thread on my SW-1 upgrade: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/13642

Paint, DCC and Sound in an older Walthers SW-1

I have acquired an older Walthers SW-1 (Undecorated) in which I want to put a sound decoder. I have done a couple of other sound decoder installations. In this case I'm hoping to get some advice from others who have already attempted this installation.

The loco runs smooth and quiet on DC.

uncouple options

Hi,

what are the options to uncouple trains? (i'm on n scale)

is there some automatic way to uncouple?

Finding a short

I am in the process of wiring my new layout and have developed a short.  The command station is a Digitrax Zephyr.  Being a small (7' X 13') layout, I wired it as one block.  All the switch frogs are electrically isolated.  There are no trains or tools on the track.

Any suggestions on handlaying complicated track?

I have been using my new tools from Fast Tracks to build some #7 turnouts.  My sixth is definitely a lot better than my first!  Now I am looking at an area of the layout that has a couple of turnouts facing each other with a diamond where they cross.  I have seen the beautiful track that Tim has done on his website, and also looked at the series of photos posted on the MR site by Mr. Fujiwara on building a diamond, but have not found much info on direction to create such complicated track.

Here's the area I want to make.

Can't get the lighting functions to work on my decoder.

I am replacing the light in my F 7 with LEDs. It is a non sound decoder, but for the life of me I can't get the lights to work. I have wired the LEDs with resistors the way Soundtraxx has said to wire them. Further, I have wired them to the bored the way they stated to do it. I also switched the wired around. Nothing! I tried get it to work with my JMRI, and looked to see if there was something to activate to no avail.

Am I missing or forgetting to do something?

Any in put would be appreciated.
