Finally got the hidden storage track under the small village at the backdrop started and in place. Access holes were cut and track laid and tested for clearances etc.

Cribbing put in place to check height and alignment as were the various portions of "trackage." Buildings are placed for visual reference; max building height will be 3 stories in this area. A small road runs closest to the front edge going off to the left and descending to the food terminal yard. Bridge is a suggestion ending at facia and connecting the village with the rest of the "world."

I've temporarily placed bridges to check for positioning along a suggested river. The final location will probably be more to the foreground (truss bridge) where the main line crosses it.  The actual main line passes in front of the storage track and ends in a tunnel to the right (mountain not yet built) - this is the terminus as this is a point-to-point railroad.

The key to the layout is the area where there will be a Wye, 3-way, 19 degree crossing and wye (running from in front of raised food terminal area to the storage tunnel area) which are on order and will be laid first. Thanks to all who gave advice on laying out the track diagrams for "fittings." Once this was done, it was easy to determine the critical point of the layout to be installed first (with exception of storage track). After it is down, the rest should flow much easier. More photos and progress to follow. . .
