Update on BNML Layout Progress
Fri, 2014-02-07 21:06 — Bill Brillinger
Here is an update on my progress on the BNML. Morris to St Jean...
This diagram shows the area covered in this update.
I've made lots of progress since my last update. Got the big curve in and all of the track up to the south end of St. Jean.
The duckunder is in and I'm not finding it to be a problem. It's just high enough that I can pass under it in a 2 step motion quite comfortably.
Wiring is all in and everything seems to be working well.

Mock it up
Before committing to the design of a duck under, I highly suggest mocking it up and live with it for a week. It's worth the effort.
30" wide sounds to tight for me, for that width I'd want to travel nose first down the length of it, resulting in a shuffling motion that I think would be uncomfortable in the long run for a duck under that is "high traffic".
Will your duck under be used just for access? or will you have to pass under it regularly while operating?
Mine will be used during operation on a regular basis.
