April RE now appearing
Thanks Joe.
All good now. I'm looking forward to reading this issue as I eat my dinner !
Email...
It would be great if you could send out an email each month announcing the newest issue of RE along with the link to access it. I know, "bookmark the link". I've done that. I can't find the bookmark. I've searched my bookmarks for every version I could think that it might be saved as, and still can't find it. I think it might be saved under the name of the company that does the hosting or something that I can't remember. I have to work way too hard each month to get to it. And I'm not a Luddite, or computer-illiterate, or generally obtuse.

Search...
I found it finally. For anybody else that may be having similar trouble, I searched my email for "MRH Media". That turns up several results, but scroll through them until you see an email titled "Order ########" with some number. That email will have your original link.
I still haven't found the bookmark that I saved. Update: Found the bookmark. Moved it to the menu bar. At least on the office computer it will be easier next time.

Re-Name the bookmark
Most browsers let you Rename a bookmarked link to anything you want.
I've called mine "MRH Running Extra Download Link"
gs
Yep...
I did that too. Now it's "MRH - Running Extra".
They should have a new slogan, "Running Extra, you gotta really want it!"
Because you gotta really work to get to read it.
Or maybe, "Running Extra, it takes extra effort to read!"
LOL

Issue number
Not a major problem but shouldn’t the April 2019 of RE be issue # 006?
When I click on my download link, the file is “000. April 2019”. “006. April 2019” would follow the previously established numbering sequence:
Temporarily renumbered to zero
We ALWAYS temorarily renumber the current issue to 000. so it lists at the top for easy access. This is only for this listing (which SendOwl defaults to alphabetic/numberical order), the actual issue PDF is numbered correctly as 006. in this case.
Once the next new issue comes out, we will renumber the April issue in this listing to 006. putting it down at the bottom. Then the May issue will be 000. so it's at the top for easy access.
Get it?

When "just bookmark it" gets out of control
I use Chrome as my main browser for a while now. I bookmark a lot of things. It got so bad that several months ago I categorized all the bookmarks into eight major categories. One of those categories I named Trains. Two days ago I went looking for the RE bookmark in Trains. I had so many bookmarks ( over 100+) and really did not know what I was looking for, I got frustrated and searched my Gmail and found it. I bookmarked it to Trains. So it was obvious that searching in Trains was a waist of time.
Last night I spent four hours non stop categorizing Trains. I ended up with 21 categories. One category I named MRH Administrative and I put two bookmarks to RE download. I found the RE bookmark I was looking for plus the one I made from Gmail.
One last comment - Renaming bookmarks in Chrome - once a bookmark is made you can not change the name. So, when you make the bookmark you can change the name at that time only.
So, Bookmarking ends up to be a flat file DB you have to manage.

RE: Renaming bookmarks
Don't know what version of Chrome you are using, but in mine (Version 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit)), desktop version I can rename bookmarks.
I go to the menu (three vertical dots top right on desktop version of chrome) select Bookmarks -> Bookmark manager, then right click the three vertical dots at the end of the bookmark select Edit and I can change the name.
I am pretty certain this option has been around for quite some time, and
expect the app version of Chrome to have the same bookmark manager somewhere.EDIT: So went and checked the app version of Chrome on my iphone, sorry didn't get the actual version number. To rename a bookmark on the iphone app: Open the Bookmarks folder, and long press the bookmark you want to rename, select Edit and you can rename the bookmark.

OK, so how do I get the Running Extra articles???
I previously subscribed. I click the link and it just takes me to where I can buy it. Come on, guys. This is not acceptable.
Here is my order number for Running Extra
Order 0038011448
Now how about making it work!!!!!!!!!!!!
Revzoom: Check your email.

Yes, you are right you can edit the bookmark after it is made in Chrome.
Looking at the Chrome help was no help. Line 3. I did not know what they were talking about.
Your instruction was better but you did not say you have to highlight the Bookmark to get the edit menu to come up. It never occurred to me because of the three dots at the ens of each Bookmark. Because I knew you were right, I thought about what I was not doing. Then I got an inspiration - try highlighting the Bookmark then click on the three dots. It worked! I got the edit menu.
So that squares that issue. The renaming of Bookmarks in Chrome is understood and is corrected in the literature. Thanks for bringing it up.

Revzoom...
You have to find the original link that you were first sent when you paid for RE. It is the only link that will work.
Yes, it is cumbersome as all get out, but that's how it works. You can bookmark that site once you get to it, which is why there is all this talk about working with bookmarks going on. Not exactly convenient.
It's in the name, Running Extra. You'll be running around doing a lot of extra work if you want to read what's in it.

Aw come on!
Now come on guys, you’re being really harsh. Why is a download SOOO dang hard to do?
1. We email you a permanent link that’s personalized to just YOU. No login to remember, no password to remember.
2. Bookmark the link, then each month, visit the bookmarked link and download your PDF.
3. Done.
The best way to do the bookmark is to put it right on the browsers bookmark bar as a button. Then you can’t miss it!
P.S. Frankly, I’m disappointed at how hard a download seems to be and how quick you are to be really negative about “the hassle” of a download. Maybe I need to make a video showing you how to make a bookmark in your browser that you can’t miss? Maybe that will help ...

How 'bout dat?
I've pretty much got it figured out now, at least on one computer. :-b
But, serious question, how hard would it be to send that personalized link each month with a notice that the newest issue is available? That would rock if it is reasonably doable. Is it SOOOO dang hard to do? lol
1. Send me an email each month when the newest edition is available.
2. Include my personalized link in that email.
3. Done.
How 'bout dat? :-)

@Mike Lee - rename bookmarks in Chrome
Interesting when I right click on the three dots it highligts the bookmark and opens the menu so I can select edit.
That's exactly what we do
That's EXACTLY what we do.
Trouble is, unless you whitelist noreply@sendowl.com, that email may be going to spam. Spam filters make it extremely difficult for business emails to be guaranteed to be seen.
I am set up as a subscriber as well, so here's the email I got on April 1 when the new issue was released:
P.S. I edited the links in this email so they're bogus -- they won't work!
If you didn't see this email, then look in your spam folder. Search for: "new issue running extra" and you will probably find it.
To make sure it doesn't go to spam, whitelist noreply@sendowl.com by adding that email address to your contacts. Most email software will deliver emails that come from a contact!
Notice we're basically having to educate you on how to use your device / computer - how to find emails that go to spam, how to whitelist an email sender, how to bookmark, how to organize bookmarks, and so on. In effect, we've also signed up to be computer trainers, too.
The other really annoying part in all this is some email providers actually won't even deliver emails they see as spam. So there's a chance this legit email never even got to you -- and that is EXTREMELY frustrating because we get blamed for being lackies when we DID send the appropriate email but you will never get it, thanks to your email provider deciding for you that our important and totally legit email is spam.

Making RE access super easy
Here's a short video we put together to show how easy it is to access and read MRH-RE:
how-to-access-RE on Vimeo.
Notice, with no login or password to remember (you get a personal repository download link just for you), bookmarking the link in your browser makes it falling-off-a-log easy to access your private RE issue download repository!
