Got to get some time to get this built!

Hi Dr. Geoff,

Thanks for this article!  I needed something I could carry along with me on my travels.   I will also consider some of your code for another project I’m developing with the ESP32s.

I happened on http://www.exsbc.com when I ordered two of their ESP32s.  I’ve since met with them twice.  They are very fine people making very high quality products (shortly to include the Decoder Buddy.). It does make me feel good to have things made on home soil too!

This can be a further recommendation to people buying from EZSBC!

Thanks again!

Nick

@Nick

Hi Nick,

'Glad you enjoyed this!

You might want to consider a few more "out of the box" options beyond the basic throttle:

WiFi Throttle Options Out of the Throttle Box:

1. You can control more than one loco, by adding a second knob and address selector.
2. You can add switches and buttons (not functions per se) that perform sequences of actions, like blow a whistle and bell and gradually start a loco, forward, or back.
3. Sequence a series of several functions even spread across multiple decoder addresses
4. Start a loco forward, progress for a while, stop and proceed over some course, and loop, with lights and sounds of course.
5. Use your WiFi throttle not as a throttle, but as a portable remote control for lighting, animation, and accessories on your layout.

Don't get locked into the standard handheld configuration. You may need more space for displays, larger batteries, and/or more switches, buttons, and potentiometers.
Have fun!
Best regards,
Geoff Bunza
