My N Gauge journey - some WIP pictures
Hello,
The other day I posted some updated layout pics but I thought I'd put up some work in progress photos to show how I got the layout to this state. I'm focusing particularly on the tunnel section.
Revisiting Bob's Bog and a new Hobo camp
Hello everyone. I had a bit of a short hiatus from the hobby because of some real world issues and a general lack of motivation and creativity for a longer than usual period but thankfully that all seems to have passed and I've been on a bit of a roll the last few days with various scenes.
Giveaway Entry Video | 2020 Holiday Model Railroad Starter Set
This holiday season, we are giving the gift of model railroading to a new generation. In this video I will let you know how to enter the giveaway to win a model railroad starter set.
Benchwork Update
The cabinets/bases are built. They will be stained and have doors added at a later date. The modules themselves need some more work. They do not lay flat as currently built with 2x4s, so I think I will rebuild them with L-girder frames. Not sure when I will get to that, holiday plans have my foreseeable weekends booked.
Thanks to everyone who has read and commented so far!
Is there anything better than building benchwork when it is 30 degrees outside?
Well, gang. I haven't posted in a long while, mainly because I haven't worked on the layout a lot. I am now sometimes envious of someone who builds a small switching layout !
Oh well, I took the bite and now I have to digest it.
Any information on this train?
Good Morning folks, my Grandson is totally into model trains of all kinds. Or as he recently said, "When I was younger I was into trains, but now that I'm older I'm into all forms of transportation." Anyway, for his 5th birthday last week a friend of the family gave him a model train he had been given in his youth. He said it was old when he got it those many years ago. He has no idea what brand it is or if it even works. His said he has seen it run, though. He says it is steam powered and used a bunsen burner of some sort.
Mr. Nolan's HO Empire: Layout Update, July - December 2020
So I don't normally ask for feedback, but just for sake of my sanity (and to guage how interesting my vids actually are...) are you guys actually watching this stuff, or just clicking?
In the Nick(el) of Time
It's been almost five years since I've posted on this site, nearly all of which was spent separated from my layout, and most of which was entirely without model railroading. I'm not at all bothered by spending my mid-20's gallivanting around instead of playing with trains. But between the current state of both the world (melting down under a global pandemic) and my life (settled in a long-term rental house with my girlfriend, and rapidly becoming a crotchety old grandpa at heart), I figure I'll be hunkered down for most of the winter and will have probably the money, time, energy, and desire to really pick up the hobby again.
