Donner Summit Crossed

I have finished all of the track work on my Donner Summit layout! It's micro-engineering code 83 flex with fast tracks turnouts. I built all the number 6's because I have the jig and I had Cream City build the rest 8's, 5's and a curved turnout. I have a lot of feeders to add to keep the track running reliably.

chinese steam in Iowa

While browsing the internet I found this interesting video (and more) of chinese 2 QJ locomotives pulling a revenue freight in Iowa with 100 freight cars.

Enjoy!

Funicular Railways - More about Los Angeles Angels' Flight

In my earlier topic, "Funicular Railways - Out of Curiosity", a reply stated that Angel's Flight still existed in Los Angeles just off I-5 between San Fenando Valley and West Los Angeles. That did not sound quite right, since I had just a few months or so back looked up info on the web about it. Well, here is a little more info on it.

The railway was relocated, but only a short distance from the original spot. In relocating it, there was extensive modifications made to the original design, although the original cars retained there names: Sinai and Olivet.

The holidays are finally over and now I can work on my Hudson & Hartford.

Well it's October and the holidays are now over so I have both time and opprtunity to work on the Hudson and Hartford.

Funicular Railways - Out of Curiosity

Just wondering (my sister and brother-in-law were in the Pittsburg PA area awhile back and visited one) - has anyone you know of modeled a funicular ("funny peculiar" ? - no, it really is a term applied to inclined plane railways). The one they saw crosses over the Allegheny Mountains. Here is a link to one information rich page:

Working on the railroad...

I set my Free-Mo in front of my backdrop and was playing around with some lighting. I still have lots of work to do on the Free-Mo section before I would call it done, but I think I am off to a good start.
