CP's Area H Spur: Final Update
Only three posts in and now a "final update?" I'm sure someone is thinking "that didn't take long" and you would be right to accuse me.
CP's Area H Spur Update #2
It's been four months since my last update and in that time I've made decent progress on the Area H Spur. Most important was constructing the spur lead/staging track. As you'll notice in the photos, my aim was to use lightweight materials for the layout base. Simple steel brackets screwed into the walls and a coroplast (1/4" corrugated plastic sheet) serving as the base material.
Train Room Artwork
I got around to putting up some artwork in the "train room" and wanted to share it with others in the community.
CP's Area H Spur Update #1
Recent progress includes installing wall shelving, cutting and fitting layout base material (1 1/2" XPS pink wall insulation board) and installing LED lighting. (Images in first comment.)
Welcome to Canadian Pacific's Area H (Canpa Subdivision) Industrial Spur
After many years, I am finally graduating from armchair modeller/locomotive & rolling stock collector to layout builder and operator. Being an apartment dweller, space is at a premium for me, so N scale was the obvious choice.
I am basing my layout on Canadian Pacific's Area H Industrial Spur, located in Etobicoke, Ontario (map). Below is my finalized track plan.
