Hudson & Hartford Update
I haven'r posted anything on the Hudson and Hartford in a while primarily because nothing has been done on it for awhile. That doesn't mean I haven't made any progress on getting it built since I have been spending time doodling and experimenting with possible track plans. I havem't got anything I would want to show yet but I think I am getting closer.
Bernie Kempinski's book.
Bernie's book is great.
While i have no intention of building a steel mill of any kind, the book ofers lot's of infprmation about one of my favorite subjects: Converting existing kits to other uses from different scales. For example, when Bernie built Alkem Steel in N-scale he used the Walther's HO Scale kit and nodified it to make an impressive b;ast furnace on a N-Trak module! Well done, Bernie.

THis evening my wife and I...
This evening my wife and I went down to the laundry room to do do the wash. After putting the clothes in the washing machine we went into the train room and looked at what I was working on. She knew of the buildings I was planning and had built to be named for my daughter's in law and at the one I was working on for her. She then asked me if I was going to do one for her mother.
I haven't been doing much lately
I haven't been doing much in recent weeks primarily because the situation at home has not been conducive to it. You see my mother-in-law had a coronary and between the week she spent in the hospital and her death and funeral, no one ay home has felt like doing much.
The sun actually came out on my way to work this morning!
Yep, the sun actually made it's appearance shortly after I got on the road at 6 AM. That meant I could actually see the bay from the Belt Parkway and the Verazano Bridge. It was a beautiful sight to actually see a few ships on the water for a change. Unfortunately one can't see the Bay Ridge carfloat aprons from the bridge or even from the adjoining Brooklyn Queens Expressway but you can't have verything.
Haven't had much time lately...
I haven't had much time to work on the layout due to and unfortunate turn of events.
According to the weather report, snow is coming...
Yep were going to see some more snow tonight. Those of us in Northeast have had enough of it. But this one isn't supposed to be anywhere near as bad> But for those communities who have been socked by the weather, mainly those in New Jersey and south even a little bit is too much.
Let it snow, let it snow. let it snow...
Well it has begun snowing here in NYC and while nothing is on the streets, its has covered the windows of my and my wife's vehicles. The news report says we can get from a foot to 18 inches of the stuff by the time it ends on Thursday morning.
