Eastpointe continues to grow.

Work continues in Eastpointe.  Will add 17 more trees and 2 more LPG tanks tomorrow.  Working on the LPG unloading racks, truck loading racks, fencing and guard rails over next weekend.  Happy with the progress, although taking my time.  Added some rail fans in a couple locations along the tracks as well.

1st building and some scenery up

Finally able to get the scenery and kit building going.  Waiting for more Woodland Scenics scenic cement to arrive but have all of the industry structures, figures, vehicles etc.  Decided the right half is going to be a flour mill based on a photo I will include.  Built an engine shed today and will start working on the LPG kits.

Fascia finally up

Finally installed the fascia and extension plate this weekend.  Going to put down the asphalt as soon as the top coat and paving tape arrive.  Will start working on the kits also this week.  Needed a gloss coat to somewhat match the floor.  I will fill in the gap with a little scenery.

Ballasting the rest of the track today

Started ballasting the track and the Bachmann ballast spreader is coming in handy.  Doing the straight tracks and turnouts by hand.  Hope to start paving the surface for the pumps and propane storage tanks tomorrow.

Ready to create the LPG Transloading Facility

Track is weathered, sanded and tested, now it’s time to work on the first 6’ section.  Closest 6’ section upper two tracks will be an LPG Transloading Facility based on the pictures included.  Have all the items necessary and look forward to seeing the finished product.

12’ x 2’ HO Switching Layout

Just finished laying track on my 12’ x 2’ switching layout and getting ready to wire, weather and ballast the track.  Had to add an 8” section of track to cross the joint of the two 6’ modules and move the switch further forward.  Atlas #6 turnouts used for the entire layout.  I also decided to stretch the top industry track to the end on both sides of the modules.  I used two window latches to join the two sections, which worked out better than expected.  It will be part of a larger layout in the future.
