Starting to plan the layout
Hi all.
After my last post where e I had some precious help, ideas kept coming at me. Beeing the first time taht I'll be a layout this big, my temptation is to cram as much track I can get in there, BUT... I kept reading and viewing videos, and listening to podcasts. More layout, means more work, means more time, means more money to the hobby, and less time to enjoy running trains..
This is it! New venture in H0!
Hi all.
Now that thing are starting to slow down, finally I have the time to make some progress on my home layout.
Well, I think now I have things sorted: New England, in the 70's or 80's. (yes, pretty much inspired by Mr. Mike Confalone). I don't wnat to have bit time railroading, but some switching, like Lance Mindheim, James McNab, or even Bruce Petty.
3rd Model Train show in Santarém, Portugal
Hi all.
Last weekend (19th and 20th of March) we had the 3rd Model Train Show in Santarém, Portugal.
I leave you with a video (not mine) of the first day:
Scenery work is fun!
Hi all.
I have been working on the layout, and let me tell you - I really enjoy doing scenery work. I love running trains in a realistic manner, (in Portugal, normally we have toy train, not model trains!!!), but scenery work it's really nice! :)
I have to rush things a bit, because show where I am going to participate with the layout is going to happen in three days!!!
So things are like this at the moment:
Mr. Confalone, it works!!!
No matter the scale!
Hi all.
I tried weathering the sleepers according to Mike Confalone's suggestions on his DVD's "Modeling Out Side the Box".
I used Vallejo Acrylics, with similar colors, but it was on PECO code 55 N scale track.
The images speak by them selves.
These are the colors used.
