Happy Birthday Joe !
Hopefully you will get to do some fun railroading today...either real or model ( that does NOT include tearing out the Siskiyou ! ). Enjoy the day !

Fonda Johnstown & Gloversville
I had just purchased two of the new Atlas S2's in the FJ&G paint scheme, which I figured would be a natural paint scheme progression for my Moosehead Western. As I was beginning to remove the lettering and start the decaling process for the Moosehead, I decided to look into the FJ&G. Seems this is a fascinating short Short Line with a very rich history. Beautiful locomotives and the Brill Bullet Interurbans. 4-4-0 locomotives and small 0-8-0 and 0-6-0's that pulled their hearts out moving freight.
Tempera Paint - Not just for Posters ?
I have run across Tempera paint again in my local Hobby Lobby...it is very inexpensive...about $1.25 for 16 oz. I have read all about powdered tempera, even saw Joe use it and his formula in one or two of his videos, but I am curious if anyone has ever used it in this liquid form ? I searched the MRH forum and came up again with uses of the powdered form...but nothing on the liquid.
New Static Grass Applicator Improvement ?
I have noticed that there is now a USB charged fly swatter. Has anyone yet tried to convert this as a static grass applicator ? My experience with the old fly swatter conversions were less than stellar, They worked, but not as good as the Noch. I like the idea of it being USB charged ( no more batteries ) and it could be always ready to go...but to what extent ? I am willing to give the fly swatter one more chance and build one more...but was hoping someone has beat me to it.

Photo...LOTS of photos
NYC Library just release a LARGE group of photos. There are many different types here, menu's, stereoscopes, music sheets, etc.....but there are also a large selection of maps, railroad posters, railroad buildings, yards...well you get the idea. AND they are not all from New York. After digging around for over an hour, I found a Pioneer Zephyr poster and downloaded it....at full size ! They give you many options for downloading...so please take a look ! However....allow yourself some time.

Opening my own can of worms
Thanks to Bill Brillinger and his excellent decal work, I now have my own logo and lettering for my Moosehead Western home road. So for the past few months I have been painting my loco's in preparation for the decals. However, this has now caused me to think about how I am going to number my locomotives. Let's just deal with the steam locomotives right now ( my first love ) and then deal with my first generation diesels later.
NCE Excellence
I chose NCE when I first went to DCC, 1st for the way their controller felt and worked, 2nd because of the expandability and accessories available, and of course, because they were an advertiser in MRH. I bought the PowerCab because I was still learning DCC, and this got me into it inexpensively. It worked well, was easy to use and program, and eased my transition into DCC. It performed so flawlessly, that I bought a ProCab system, but continued to use the PowerCab at my work bench to do addressing and test loco's.
