First level Wiring Done and More Dover Progress

It has been about four months since my last update.  My primary focus during that time has been to complete the bulk of the main level trackwork through Conway and Bartlett and get it wired and operational.  The goal was to be fully connected around the main level and back down the helix through staging so I could support continuous running while working on the layout.

Dover NH Backdrop Painted

I decided to post this as a separate blog entry from my ongoing updates because I am pretty happy with how it came out.  My two practice attempts on scraps definitely helped because now that I did the real thing I am keeping it. I'll post one photo here and the rest in a reply.

Fuel Pad or No Fuel Pad

It has been several months of life stuff and not working on my MEC and B&M Scenic RR.  But I continue to plan.  One of the photos of this week here on MRH led me to reexamine some photo evidence around the Dover NH yard I am modeling and question my earlier assumptions.

Main Level Progress and Building the base for the Helix

The past couple weekends have seen more progress on the main level benchwork, including building the base for the Helix.

North Conway benchwork plus staging video

Thanks to input on the topic I posted around what to do next, I decided today to build the next section of the benchwork - for the North Conway area.  Below is the trackplan again for the main level but with the benchwork plan shown to put the photos in context.

Dover Subroadbed and divider Progress

Finally started on the Dover/Madison area, specifically the subroadbed for Dover and the vertical divider between Dover and Madison that will also serve as the center support for Gilman VT on the upper level later.

Photos and step-by-step descriptions of today's work will be in the next post.
