Introducing myself

Hello MRH subscribers,

I just joined after seeing the link in the MR forum. I'm a 61-year-old retired high school chemistry teacher in Napanee, Ontario, Canada. I model CN in the mid-eighties so my locos are a mix of 1st and 2nd generation units. I suppose my one SD50F (draper taper) is actually a 3rd generation unit.

I generally try to be prototypical but there are a couple of differences between my world and the real world out there: First off, all freights running on my railroad have cabooses. Secondly, in my world, VIA never came into existence so CN is still responsible for providing passenger service.

My railroad runs on NCE-DCC but I use Dynatrol IR throttles

Last week my daughter provided us with a new grandson, our second, who if he is like his older brother (age 2) will love trains.

That's it for now.

Welcome CN!

Welcome, CN! Another 1980s modeler - yay!

When you get a chance, post some photos! If you don't have a place to host them, we'll let you upload them here. Like this one, of the Coos Bay Hauler West at Rice Hill summit on my layout:
