It's great to see Aussie N scale featuring in this segment. Darren French's layout has to be seen to be believed - the level of workmanship and realism in locos, rollingstock, scenery, electronics, etc, is far greater than that achieved in most layouts of a larger scale.
It may not be appreciated by many readers that most Australian outline locos, particularly N scale, are based on US models, the bodies being either highly modified or scratchbuilt, and the mechanisms in many cases also being modified. Apart from a few brass kits, we are only just starting to see injection moulded or 3D printed bodies being produced, but they have to be made to fit available American mechs. So there's plenty of modelling expertise amongst our N scalers.
