They're not good or bad, just different

I guess I don't see it the same way. The two approaches are not good or bad (in the value-judgement sense), just different. One chooses to emphasize their current thrust in the HO market, the other spreads out their marketing across multiple scales.

Neither one is "right" - they've just got a different emphasis.

These are impromptu attempts to give the National Train Show a bit of flavor video coverage to those of you who could not attend. These are not preplanned weeks in advance, we make no attempt to "balance them" and we also don't have the resources to video every vendor and every product at the show. If you think we missed something or didn't cover your favorite scale adequately, you're probably right.

Best to not read too much into these videos - they're a flavor, a taste, a smattering, not the entire show or a firm's entire marketing strategy in 5 minutes.

Thanks for the coverage

I for one want to thank the entire MRH staff for the convention and NTS coverage.  I was not a member last year at convention time so did not know what was done, but I was very surprised at how extensively you covered and reported to us what was going on.  It was more than I ever expected.  In fact there is so much that I still have not been able to watch all of the videos.  Your post here on MRH are probably the closest I will ever get to any of the conventions,  so I am grateful for everyone's efforts.

A great pleasure in life is doing what others said you were not capable of doing!

I am not asking you make a judgement call on anything here.

Each vendor obviously presented what they thought important. But there is always a risk in that and they better than anyone should realize that. They should also realize that by not paying attention to the different scales really creates an attitude that anything other than HO is not worth their time or effort and is thus probably not the best impression to leave anywhere.

As I said it isn't your fault nor do I blame you. You made the venue available to them so it's their fault if they misused the opportunity,

I am sorry I wasn't able to make this one but not because other things interferred. It was purely a question of money this time. I am am grateful that you have done what you did in making these sessions available to those of us who couldn't make it. And I realize that it is a big show and thus it was impossible to be everywhere and cover everything. I wish the NMRA could have done it but they have their own limitations of coverage as well.
