I feel stupid

If I go to the page previous to your link, I see the survey mentioned, but no link to the survey.

I may be too stupid to participate.

What's that mean?

If I go to the page previous to your link, I see the survey mentioned, but no link to the survey.

I may be too stupid to participate.

Not sure what that means ... hopefully you're just joking.

Found it...

And yes, I am too stupid!  I was looking for a small link within the text.  That ENORMOUS color ad right next to the article was completely hidden.

thanks, and my apologies

LOL ...

... Yes, I've been fooled by those blazing banners too ... they look like "fluff" so get filtered out (ignored) ... include a link as part of the text and I'll find it every time.  ;)

Proto vs proto-freelance vs freelance question ...

Only 3% so far are strict prototype - that's hardly the majority as previous threads on here have proposed. Most are loose proto-freelance (30%) with the second largest group being loose prototype (20%). After that, 14% are strict proto-freelance (aka the Allagash and V&O - it feels like a real railroad).

I'd call Jack Burgess' layout strict prototype - but Jack very much appreciates all approaches to the hobby.

I'd call my Siskiyou Line a loose prototype.

I'd rate Charlie's Bear Creek & South Jackson a loose proto-freelance.

Loose freelance (anything goes as long as its trains) is about 10% and strict freelance (fanciful, but the trains seem real) is 6%. I'd call the G&D a strict freelance pike.

And finally, 15% like 'em all.

That's so far with about 700 responses.

I find the 3% strict prototype number interesting - and when I look at modelers who fit in that category like Jack Burgess - most are not anti-freelance bigots. So that leads me to believe the real ardent anti-freelance crowd is less than 1% of the hobby population. Hardly enough to be considered "taking over".
