After 33 years with this HO layout, I am considering starting over.

Yes, after 33 years with my HO Northern Pacific layout, I am considering starting over.  I'm considering On30, my eyes at 70 years young are not as good as they used to be and I'm figuring that a larger scale would improve my ability to see what I'm doing.  I am also considering that if I tear out my current layout, that will leave less for my two sons and wife to work on to get rid of my hobby from this house.  Having been a "Semi Prototype" modeler for 25; or, so years, I would like to revert back to freelancing.  In prototype modeling, I fou

Road Line Jig.

There have been some posts on several model railroad Facebook pages recently on lane widths for roads. I have been following these discussions intently as I am in the process of building an entrance road to my intermodal facility and my next project will be roads in a downtown area.

Northern Pacific

I have been modeling the Northern Pacific in 1953 and in HO. HO might have the the most locomotives representing the Northern Pacific and 1953 is the heart of the transition and allows me to model both late steam and early diesels. As well as S-4, W-3 and other steam locos, I love F units, RS-1s and RS-3s GP-7s some Baldwin locos, Alco S-4s and NW switcher units.

Going Bonkers.....

In February, we put a bid on a house, and everything seemed ideal.....now after a month of stay at home, radio silence from the bank, and lack of human contact, I have just plain lost my mind!!!!

I packed most of our stuff in anticipation of a cross-country move, and now I am surrounded by my life in cardboard!

I put my tools and trains away, and thought we would be out of here by the next week or so, instead no news on our mortgage, our closing, and the rest of our lives.

Just venting but I am nuts!

TMTV Videos

I realize the following is critisizum.  It's also probable that only I feel this way.  However, I think the videos in TMTV should be much tighter!  To much time is spent on the introductions with the paint can.  Sometimes the presenters seem to be wanting to prove how much they know about the topic .  I get bored very easily!  Cut out the superfluous stuff and tighten up the videos.  Even ken Patterson's "What's Neat" could use some "Tightening Up"!

WIP UPDATE. CN Intermodal Yard on my Trenton Subdivision in N Scale.

Taking advantage of “Go Home/Stay Home” I have been able to make some progress on my Intermodal Yard. I have finished painting the caution and traffic lines in the yard and stenciled Traffic control points on the concrete pad. More details below.

My perspective on Covid-19

I wanted to post my thoughts on where this Covid-19 situation is going. Hang on, we will get through this, but get ready for a very SLOW return to normal.

First, here are Oregon's Covid-19 projections. They don't show a "new normal" until August.
