Up Black Creek on the Narrow Gauge

Welcome to my blog covering my modelling adventure in 0n30

I have been an enthusiast of the 0n30 format more or less since Bachmann released their first models in 1998.

Things quickly come to a halt

Woke up this morning to 4 inches of water in my basement. The sump pump quit over night and it was raining quite hard. Layout on hold while I repair the basement floor.

Search engine working?

Is the search feature not working on this site? I'm using an Ipad and just tried searching for "Bachmann" (with and without quotes) and got nothing. As a matter of fact I can't get any results for any search word. Any ideas?

Lessons Learned Handlaying Track

It has been a fascinating journey learning the basics of hand laying my own track. Most of the BQR was flextrack and commercial turnouts. But to finish that last 10% was proving to be very difficult -- more so due to the limited space and geometry that is a combination of what senior management would allow and my creative decisions.

Cornhill & Atherton Easter Weekend Progress

Just had our Easter weekend break so I had 2 extra days available for construction and progress has been astonishing – way beyond what I expected to achieve, which makes a change from the usual 70% achievement of plan at best.

A few photos........

First impressions - Model Railroader Video Plus

I was one of the people that subscribed to MR Video Plus for $25.00 to give it a try.  Today (a few minutes ago) was my first use of the product.  I tried accessing the link using Google Chrome(tm) and after connecting to the site (from the link they supplied in an email to me) the page displayed initially and then became non responsive.  I then tried Firefox with the same link and was able to access and run the videos.

Is THAT what is holding me back?

I was down in the basement tonight staring at my fascia.   It was pretty easy to put up.   I used the standard 1/8 masonite, mounted smooth side out.   The color was easy enough since I matched the local Free-mo standards (my layout is built to Free-mo height standards so I can use my freemo module as part of the layout).   But I mounted it with bright silver screws.   Something I just happen to have on hand.
