Modeling general discussion

video of train vs. tornado
We model a lot of things but rarely do I see modeling of foul weather, particularly of the destructive kind. Probably a good reason for that. It would be very hard on the rolling stock.
Here's a video that give credence to that. It claims to be video of a train that tangles with a tornado to the detriment of the train. I'm inclined to believe that's what happened. In any case it's an amazing perspective of things going terribly, terribly wrong out on the mainline. I really like the camera perspective out the cab of the last engine in the consist looking toward the freight cars.

Here's a great group of professional modelers.
I first became aware of this website back in 1997, and was completely
amazed at their work. They do not limit their skills or services to just
trains, but anybody that can appreciate the fine art of model making will
love taking a look at all of these projects. Lots of pics, and tons of detail can
be found throughout. They're at:

Want to add some 'PUNCH' to the sound of your videos?!
For those of you that are into video production, there's a great product
that will make the sound of your videos stand out above the rest. The product
is called, "The Finalizer," by TC Electronic. There are currently 3 models available, and
based on your budget, and how serious you are with the audio quality of your videos,
this product will separate the men from the boys.
While most of us are familiar with mixing, and equalization, The Finalizer falls under the
Atlas GP40-2 in SP
I just saw the ad for the new Atlas GP40-2 in SP coming out later this year. They will be featuring all of your favorite SP spotting features; L window, light package (front and back), sound and decoder.
I'll be saving some $$ for that model.

Painting Trackwork on the CNJ Bronx Terminal
Hi,
Here is a bit of video I shot the other day as I applied a base coat of colour onto the trackwork of my CNJ Bronx Terminal....
I am spraying all the track wil a coat of Floquil Railroad Tie brown as a base coat. I will do a bit more to it prior to ballasting, but for now I just wanted to get something on it before the train show in Hartford.
Fresno, CA
I'm going to be up in Fresno off and on for business this summer. Any good layouts and/or clubs to visit?

Lighting for Photography - who is using what?
Like the topic name says, I'm interested in finding out how folks are lighting their layouts for photography. At present I only have a 4 megapixel point and shoot, so I want to maximize its potential as much as possible - and I think lighting is one way to do that.
So let's hear it friends - enlighten us!

HD Video of the CNJ Bronx Terminal Operating
Hi,
I have got many requests for some video of my CNJ Bronx Terminal layout running.
Today I cleaned off all the tools and loaded it up with rolling stock so I could finally shoot some video.
The locomotive shown on the video is my brass boxcab model of GE/IR 300 HP CNJ 1000. Its not yet painted, and needs work. It now has a QSI sound decoder installed, which you hear on the video. I am hoping to tweak it a bit before the show so it runs well. One of the sideframes is also missing, which I will add in soon.
