USA, Maryland, Baltimore, Model Railroad Open House, Sundays Jun-10, Jul-8, Aug-12, Sep-9, Oct-14, Nov-11, Dec-9 1-5pm
The Baltimore Society of Model Engineers holds monthly open house shows, where visitors can view our two 12 x 65 foot layouts, one is 2-rail O-scale the other is HO. Both layouts run steam and diesel trains, and trolleys off the overhead wire.
Model Railroading at a MakerFaire
Joe F has mentioned in the past that promoting model railroading at Maker Faire events might be a good way to promote the hobby. Looks like he might be on to something. The Bay Area Chapter of European Train Enthusiasts modular layout was just featured on Adam Savages Tested You Tube channel.

Soldering ladder problems
I am trying to solder for the first time rolling stock ladders in HO scale. I have not been able to find on google a good description of how to make them. I have experimented with an aluminum jig but I I think the aluminum was functioning as a heat sink and a could not get the solder to flow.
Any help from experienced modelers would be appreciated.
