Smaller size layout operations

I started operating my Wheeling Freight Terminal about a year ago and have now settled into monthly sessions. The layout represents an area under yard limits so operations tools are a little different. I posted details on handling outbound cars at my blog.

Request for photos of East Boston, from Battery Park

I'm looking for an individual to take a set of panoramic photos with an SLR camera, normal perspective/ distance, not zoomed in, from "Battery Wharf" in Boston, Mass., across the harbor toward East Boston.

The left side of the photo set starts at the end of the Coast Guard pier and panned to the right, to about the 3 to 4 O'clock position of the photographers right side. The Photo's will be used as a railroad backdrop for my layout.

Sedum

Hello all,

I am starting a new layout and track laying will begin shortly. I am starting to collect scenery elements for my layout which is set in New England. I will be making most of my trees and know that Sedum is popular. There are a number of varieties of Sedum and I was wondering 1. if anyone knows which variety is the common that I see in videos as I have not found any Sedum in the area of the Pacific Northwest that I live or 2.is there anyone who sells dried Sedum ready to make into trees.

Thanks for any help.

stuck in a bind with how to power my layout

ok so im stuck in a bind i use life-like power loc track for my layout because thats what came with the train set it was an xmas gift. any how here the problem as u can see from the picture the terminal track uses wire attached to metal clips that slide onto the terminals prongs to power said layout but the metal clips broke off and all im left with is the wires since its impossible to find power loc track is it possible for me to solder the wires onto the terminal tracks prongs so the track can be powered or am i better off trying to source out a replacement terminal track?

Weekly Photo Fun - July 10th to July 16th, 2015 (Dupe thread LOCKED)

When I retired and set up my N Gauge shelf layout, I knew I wanted to include memories of growing up in Tuckahoe NY and taking the train to Grand Central Terminal. A town set up like Tuckahoe was easy: just have the trains in a cut below street level. But GCT was way too big; so I decided to make a model just to remind me of that great building.
