MRH magazine
A Lot Fewer Dead Trees
We so often discuss the future of ink and paper, a subject Joe and Charlie no doubt see as pointless because they already know or at least are betting on the outcome.
Here is a biggie in their favor: Encyclopedia Britannica

Seattle 2012
Is there a chance MRH will cover the Seattle 2012 National Narrow Gauge Convention in September?
Looks like there will be lots of great layouts available for viewing.

Scratchbuilding and RTR
I really don't think that you scratchbuild or kitbash because RTR models have given you time. I think you scratchbuild or kitbash because you want something not commercially available or because you just enjoy making things yourself. I think those reasons have been consistent over the entire history of model railroading. People scratchbuild or kitbash because they just enjoy making things and would make things regardless if there was RTR or not.
MRH and the Samsung Galaxy tablet
Just a quick note to say both the MRH website and magazine perform flawlessly on the Samsung Galaxy tablet. I've had mine for just over two weeks now and haven't had a single issue with it. Not sure if anyone else had done any testing with this particular brand of tablet, but I would highly recommend the Galaxy to anyone who is looking into an Android based tablet.
MRH on an iPad just got cheaper ... $399
Apple just announced their new iPad3 - but they're still selling an entry-level iPad2 now for $399.
Plus I wouldn't be surprised to see iPads on eBay for even less.
Traction Modeling
It's a lot easier to make suggestions about what you ought to be doing than it is to step up and do it. I've just come back to HO modeling with retirement and find myself interested in things that I passed over 30 years ago. I'd really like to see some articles on model streetcar layouts.
Adobe Reader X Problems
Several months ago I updated my Adobe Reader software to the latest version, now called Adobe Reader X (the version listed is 10.1.2). I've had problems with the last couple issues of MRH (Feb and March) in that the viewer will experience errors typically when I'm about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through the document. Sometimes it will show a blank sheet, other times it will be a dark area (no sheet at all), and eventually it will simply lock up, and it has to be forcibly closed using Task Manager (in Windows XP). I've also experienced this same problem viewing l
MRH - March 2012
Nice job on the March 2012 issue guys! I especially liked Charlie's article on peninsula benchwork - the timing was excellent, as I'm in the process of figuring out the configuration for my own staging scheme.
I'm usually not so observant to spot mistakes, but I did note that in the MRP 2012 article that Joe Brugger mentions newcomer "Jim" Dance, whose name should be "Mark" Dance.
FWIW.
Cheers!
Marc
Anyone else having trouble reading March's Ezine ?
Its 808 am here on the East Coast, anyone else having trouble reading the Ezines that came out this morning? Or is it just me. More specifically, I cant read the issues online. It looks like I can download them, but I really dont want to do that. The links are being redirected to http://issuu.com/mr-hobbyist/docs/mrh12-03-mar2012-ol?viewMode=presentation&mode=embed
