I really like the nose design of this diesel. It reminds he a lot of the DL109,..another diesel design I like very much.

What plastics does Riverossi use for their Steam locomotives.

One of my 2-6-6-6s hit the floor the other day and broke some of the side linkages.  The broken parts mounted to the drivers are a gray plastic.  I would like to repair them if I can as I dought I will find replacement's and/or be able to remove them.  So I need glue recommendations.

Bachmann 2-10-0 Decapod in UP livery

I picked up this Bachmann loco at a local show in Deland Fla about 6 months ago. It was such a sweet looking engine I could resist, particularly as it had a vandy tender. A few weeks ago I put it on the tracks and it ran like a sweet heart too.

When I took a closer look at the box it came with I noticed it said 'undecorated'. So my question is did Bachmann sell this model like this, or did the previous owner just add that UP vandy tender?

Did any of the decapods utilize vandy tenders?

Did UP own any of these Russian decapods?

QTTX 12 axle depressed center flat car brake piping

I am getting back to work on a pair of Walther's heavy-duty 12 axle depressed center flat cars. The brake stuff is on the deck, topside, and I'd like to model the piping. I've found a few photos on the interwebs but wondered if there have ever been drawings published in any model magazines on these cars. Even better, if someone has done this and can share some photos of what they did.

I think it might have been a German company,  almost certain it was not Chinese??

I have weathered another switcher, but as seen here, it had an off black custom paint job and never was shiny.

 

This one is going to be a challenge.

 

enlarging an athearn sw7 fuel tank

Hello everyone

I have another question dealing with my previous SW1200 with dynamic brake and rooftop air tanks like the Englewood SW 1200s. Any ideas on how to enlarge the fuel tank on an Athearn sw7 while still keeping the plastic lugs that hold the shell to the underframe?

swapping Atlas GP-38 truck side frames

I have a couple of Atlas GP-38 engines, one is a newer model and the other is the older version.  I'd like to swap truck side frames.  Does anyone know are these side frames press fit or glued?   Are there any tricks to removing them?  The diagram suggests they should pop out, but if anyone knows before I take a screwdriver to it, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks.  

Bachmann 4-6-0 Running Slowly

Hi all!

I recently purchased a used Bachmann spectrum 4-6-0 that came with a factory tsunami sound decoder. It runs, but very slowly even at full throttle on my DCC system. I've tried resetting the decoder and that did not fix anything.

Does anyone have any input? I am really hoping that I did not buy a lemon.
