Source of Cascade Mountain Photos
I'm starting scenery on my N-scale Cascade Southern RR. I'm looking for a source of photos of the Cascade Mountains in Oregon on which I can base both my 3D landforms and my backdrop scenes. I have done a preliminary Google search under Cascade Mountains. Most of the photos I've found are those of the very tall snow-covered peaks in the Cascades.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could suggest a good source of photos of the more typical less dramatic mountain ridges found in the Cascades.

DIY Static Grass Tufts
Hey all,
It's been a while since my last post and I've been working on a couple of new videos.
My latest one is on making home made static grass tufts, they are pretty easy to make as long as you have the right gear.
I have adapted some new techniques to making varying types of grass tufts and an easy way to remove them from the tray or backing paper. Here is a link to the video:
I hope you enjoy the video and I look forward to hearing your feedback.
Cheers
Luke.
Great Lakes ship Champlain
This is a model of the Cleveland Cliffs bulk carrier ship. It was mainly used for the hauling of raw iron ore from the loading docks in Lake Superior, to the ports in Ohio to be transported by rail to the various steel mills in Pennsylvania and Ohio. It is only about 2/3 done. The basic kit is from Bearco Marine. And the great looking decals were made by Bill Brillinger. See his website at pda.ca Please note the 3D letter c on the stack also made by Bill. Much Kiba shingles done, with more to go! Will post more pics when done.

Some confusion about stockyards and cattle....
I've always thought that one of the things I'd like to have on my freelance layout is some sort of stockyard. I've looked at various kits and such for them and then I got to thinking that maybe a stockyard isn't really the proper term for what I want. Weren't there some type of rules about transporting cattle wherein that after so many hours on the rails that they had to be let out of the cars and fed, watered and/or exercised?

Why I love scenery work
This is why I love scenery work! In just one hour or so a scene can go from from a bare shell to a complete scene.

useful circus posters from usmail stamps
found these while at the post office today and thought maybe handy for some quick circus/vintage posters for fences /billboards/buildings etc. easy to apply for sure, can also scan an paintshop out the "forever " and make many more and use the originals for postage . just a thought...Jerr
Tree making machine???
I saw a brief clip of a tree making machine a while back, possibly on a Dave Frary clip.
I cannot seem to find that clip or the name of that tree making machine. Does anyone happen to know if that machine still exists and possibly have a link to purchase one if it still exists?
Thank you.

Does anyone have a Micro Engineering HO Scale 85' Deck Girder Bridge to measure
I need to know how tall the bridge is. The 50' Span is approximately 7/8" so I am presuming the 85' span would be taller. Thanks!

Tyco Trailer
I think most of us remember those old trailer on flat car sets produced by Tyco. In fact, we all probably have one or two sitting in junk boxes unless we are some kind of Tyco collector.
Before I make a mistake and start cutting up a valuable piece of plastic What kind of kitbashes have people done with these rather small and probably non realistic trailers?

Is there a good 2-sided tape to attach printed backdrops to plastic that isn't totally permanent?
The plastic backing for my back-drops is now in place and I am ready to order the printed backdrops. This will be for a 18 inch high 50 foot long shelf layout. The backdrops will be computer generated prints in 8 foot long sections. I am looking for a way to fix the paper to the plastic and have it stay put but be able to remove it intact when it is time to move the layout (hopefully after a long period of time!).
