Problem with reverse operation
I am having a problem with a DCC/sound decoder that I am installing in a diesel locomotive. I have hooked everything up, but the locomotive will only operarate in the forward direction. The front light and the sound work. But it will not run in reverse and the back light does not come on. Any thoughts?
LokSound in a Spectrum 70 ton
I am following an article in RMC magazine. November 2008 if anyone needs a small switcher with DCC/sound. The decoder is the LokSound micro with a 16mm X 25mm speaker. The baffle box made using 0.030" thick styrene measures 0.723" X 1.074" X 0.390".
Very nice install. The loco runs and sounds very nice.

lenz leo63xf
Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to assign the rail road numbers to these types of decorders for each of my trains.
( it appears that each decorder are set to manufacture specs ie. loco 0003, 0004)
I have spent two hours reading and trying out different things. To be honest, I don't know what I am doing! ha..
I tried but getting a little frustrated.
Atlas n scale with lenz leo63xf installed
MRC prodigy express, hmmm

Silly Bus and feeder question
I haven't hooked up my Digitrax Zephyr yet...still in the box. I've read the instructions be they're a bit weak on the installation. Couple of questions, my benchwork is an "L" shape consisting of two 3.5ft x 7.5ft tables. My plan is to run two blocks. So does the bus from the control run to one block and then a feeder to the next block?
The other question...when wiring up turn outs, I'm assuming it's just like DC???
Thanks!
Putting a speaker in an Atlas RS-3
Well, I am not sure if I should have put this on this forum, but here goes. I have installed a Tsunami drop in decoder into an Atlas Classic RS-3 and it sounds great. I removed the front weight as instructed, however, the speaker that was recommended, the MRC rectangular one in its own enclosure (which does sound realy good) doesn't really fit over the gear tower. I can get the shell on, but it pushes down on the truck so much that the rear wheels of the truck can swing freely when the engine sits on the track.
ME Flex Track
Is it possible to get ME in bulk, or do you have to buy it 6 pieces at a time?
Also, does anyone know where I can view a procedure to work with this type of flex track. I have seen Joe Fugate videos, but he does no go into detail about how to work with it.
MR did mention a technique for curving the stuff, but it again did not go into great detail. Is there a blog spot that someone might know that deals with the subject of working with ME?
Thank you for your time.

Wiring help needed
I'm heading to a local train swap meet tomorrow and am hoping to pick up the stuff I need to wire my layout. Basically,...here are the specs:
DCC Digitrax
Will have two powered blocks (layout divided into 2)
3 sections I can turn off and on to have locos sit
9 turnouts
Being the most electrically illiterate guy out there,...tell me what I need? What gauge wire, junction boxes etc. I do have the 9 switches for the turn outs but that is it!
Thanks!!

HELP HELP I lost my list OF DCC Decoders
Tomarrow I'm going to drive over 300 miles and am going to 5 Model RR Hobby Shops in 4 states, I had a list of DCC Decoders as what manufacture made what DCC Decoder for what Engine manufactuer. I have a list of all the things I'm getting but I'm buying 7-10 Engine DCC decoders some w/sound and some without and I lost the list and forgot which of 300 bookmarked Model RR sites had the list. The DCC Decoder list shows all decoders made by all manufactuers and which decoders work in which engine.
Forcing Rails Back In Gauge
The rails at the base of a switch have gone out of gauge (confirmed with the NMRA N Scale standards gauge). I've soldered track feeders to the base of the rails at this location, so it's possible I melted some of the plastic, although I was fairly quick with the soldering iron. What's the best way to get the rails back in gauge?
Decoder advice: total newbie here....
While I don't yet have my layout completed, I do have my Digitrax in the box ready to go. I also have my new to me Proto 2000 Phase II GP7 DCC ready loco all set to go minus a decoder. In looking at decoders, there seems to be a lot to choose from. Any advice?
It also seems that to add sound...I'm looking at a pretty penny...thoughts on this too?
Thanks!
