Thanks Guys!!!!!

The Pay Pal option worked flawlessly.

The download of each chapter was amazingly fast... maybe 10 minutes total and that was not paying attention too much when each chapter was done.

I did test each chapter to see if I downloaded them correctly and each seemed to work just fine.  I'll watch the whole thing after the family is done with Sunday dinner.

AND I got it a day earlier than expected.................

Me Too!

Wow!  I just downloaded the HD version (I'm on a mac using a cable 'net connection).  I started downloading as many chapters as the machine would allow (7 was the max for whatever reason) and came back 15 minutes later and they were done.   In the time it took me to locate this thread and knock out this reply, the remaining 5 chapters are about halfway downloaded.

I had visions of the machine running all night trying to download 3 hours of hi def video but I bet the entire process will be about 20-30 minutes.

Thanks MRH!  This is how I'll be getting DVD's from you from now on.  Cheaper, earlier and more convenient!

Downloaded the videos

Well worth the 13 bucks. Forever Free is a nice marketing angle for the magazine but quality content at a very low price is also nice. Need more!

Download Problems

OK so I must be the only one who experienced problems from what I've read. Took me 4 hours to download all of the files, as some wouldn't open after going through the process. Had one chapter that took 3 attempts before it finally would open and each file had a different size when I tried to trouble shoot. But I will say that they all finally downloaded OK and I was able to watch a couple before the evening got too late.

Fast Server

I experienced no troubles with the download. In fact, the server must be quite robust as it maintained 7 channels at 300+ each all the way through. Total time for the complete collect was a bit less than a half hour.

I noticed Firefox now permits right-click save-as to queue the whole lot although only 7 channels were active at any one time. That is nice. Used to have to wait until there were less than 7 to start another download. This time I started them all and let it run. Meanwhile, I could browse freely without attention to the downloading. Well done Mozilla!

Best way to copy MP4 files to DVD

Downloaded the files to the computer last night last night and watched most of them tonight.  I'd like to copy them to a DVD and watch on my TV.  What is the best way to copy the MP4 videos to a DVD format that will work?  From what I've seen so far on the computer screen it's one of the best how to videos I've seen (right after Joe's video series), can't wait to see it on the big screen!

DVD creation

You can copy the files directly to a data DVD for playback on a computer just the same as you would a data CD. To produce a video DVD for TV play you will need to transcode the files into DVD format with software specifically for that purpose.

HD looks fantastic!

Just finished downloading the 12 videos. Took about an hour, but I suspect that's because I'm using an old wireless G router, so it's slowing things down a bit.

Unzipped the files, and played the first few seconds of each to make sure they weren't corrupted, and I'm looking forward to spending some time this weekend watching them.

The HD picture on my wide screen HDMI monitor looks fantastic! It's crystal clear.

It's now 2am, so I'm off to bed.

Fast download, Apple TV

My downloads were pretty fast too on Monday afternoon. Pulled the files into iTunes and synced to my iPhone and iPad.

For a DVD, if you have a Mac, you can pretty easily just drag the files into iDVD and burn a disc.

Another TV option instead of DVD is to use an Apple TV if you have one. I can stream from my Mac or iPad onto the big screen with no problem.

I agree, downloadable video is the way to go in the future. Much more versatile and if you really want a DVD you can just burn one.

Thanks MRH and Mike Confalone!
