Grizzly Creek & Grumpy Flats RR
Fri, 2011-12-30 19:58 — Bluesssman
I have been enjoying learning from everyone on this forum and now it is time to start building the Grizzley Creek & Grumpy Flats Railroad. The initial layout will be a shelf unit to experiment with different modeling techniques.
Time frame will be somewhere around 1939. Mining and logging are a big part of the railroad located high in the Sierra Mountain range. Both standard and narrow gauge are found in the area. The railroad is owned by a very eccentric fellow whose idea of an railroad is something that does not cost him much. He finds odd pieces of equipment at scrape prices and expects his crew to make them like new.

That gulch....
... running right in the middle of the yard would be a top notch EPA moneymaker!.

You have been one busy guy! Can't wait to see it come to life. Should be quite dramatic with the steep hillsides as a backdrop.
Don't sweat the EPA. In 1939 you are pretty safe from tree huggers. Feel free to dump a barrel or two in the creek.
