Do not do what I did. A short story on how I bricked my new Digitrax DT602D throttle.

My biggest issue with the new Digitrax throttle was that it beeped when the LCD went to sleep. So I was very excited when I heard that Digitrax released a new firmware update that would disable the beeping.

You COULD always mute and turn on sub-titles...

If the music really bothers you guys are bothered by the music you can always just mute and turn on sub-titles.  Just my two cents.

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the LORD, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.

Those are almost as annoying as annoying music that's too loud. And often they are inaccurate.

Here's the thing: If one is producing a how-to video, is it produced primarily for the viewers needs or to satisfy ones creative need? It ain't the Cannes Film Festival, right?

Here's an example of a how-to video that's done well. Martin's are consistently excellent: https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/39136

Good point about the subtitles.

You make a good point about the subtitles.  I have had some pretty good laughs over absurd sub-titles and similar technological failures (such as "voice to text".)

A guy I work with got frustrated at Siri and started calling it bad names, those rude, deragartory words for women. Had his voice-to- text enabled. Somehow Siri thought he'd said his wife's name and sent her the text.

Came out OK in the end, but I think he had some explaining to do. Ain't technology wonderful!

New version without music

I made a new version without music based on all of the comments, and going forward I am only going to include music for the intro and outro, or when I am not talking.

Thanks for the comments, the suggestion has been received.

This is what happens when you don't read and understand the manufacturer's instructions prior to messing with their equipment.

Plus, stop using the worst, most overpriced DCC system in the hobby. Every layout owner I know, and that total is in the dozens, in my metropolitan area has had numerous problems and repeated problems even after manufacturer "repair" with Digitrax. More than half of them are currently in the process of switching to a different system.

Hello Rob,

I am only using a Digitrax throttle because that is the system my local club has. My command station at home is the Digikeijs DR5000.
