Layout Progress
Well here are some pictures of the progress I have made over the last few months. The last of the old layout has been torn out and replaced and most of the peninsulas have been built. Track has been started so things are beginning to look like a railroad again.
This will represent the entrance to the Everman Park:
Around the corner we go to the yard:
Across the Oak Grove Road, First lead to the right will go to RTP. then into what i call Everman Yard:
The yard goes through the wall to the other room:
From the other side yard continues. Leads pulling off to the left will go to Bunge Oils and a storage track:
Will cross Everman Parkway and proceed around corner:
To what will become the leads to Miller Brewery:A large peninsula will be built after this area's track work and basic scenery is done.
Around the next corner we come to the end of the line:
This area will be Evergreen Paper, Ft Worth Lumber, Delta Steel. The far area will be Green Bay Packaging.
This is a small tour of what I hope becomes a great layout.

Nice progress
Really great progress Wayne! Thanks for posting. However, it looks like 6 of your first 7 pics didn't make it. Any chance we could see those?

Hi wayne: Nice
Hi wayne:
Nice progress...it will soon be time to begin operations.
BTW, is that a full wye (both legs) coming off the main leading up to the industries? A wye always adds a lot to the operation.
Keep up the good work and thanks for posting.

Wayne posted his trackplan here: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/13986
...but I don't see the wye on it.

Why Foam?
Why do you have the foam? What purpose does it serve? I see fiber board. It can't be for sound. Ballesting will end that. I also see cork?
Excellent
Excellent progress Wayne! The multiple layers of roadbed will really help model the ditches and terrain. Especially with the foam acting as a strong base.

Update
Don't know what I did but on my computer its all there so I erased all the photos and reinserted them. Will see if everybody can see them now.
This bench work is something that I started many years ago on the first version of the layout. It is a version of what Jim Sixx did on his railroad and it work quit well for me. Basically it dual track wall shelving system, that I mount 1x4 rails to support the 1" foam. On top of that I glue ceiling tile. Then use different thickness of cork for roadbed. Its forgiving and quick to work.
Nope no wye. This is a in and reverse park, basically one long track with a few siding to get around.
I have tried to follow the industrial park as faithfully as I could. The first time I did this ran into problems because I changed the way industries were switched, was a giant pain in the ass. After getting the green light to expand into the other room reexamined the track in the park and this time followed the way switches were done. The route may be a mirror image but it flow correctly and should operate the correct way.

FWWR
I model the FWWR, Forth Worth and Western Railroad. A small short line here in the Ft Worth, Tx area. They have a job that works the EveanIndustrial park. Runs from Hodge yard, the old Conton Belt yard in Ft Worth, to Everman, Tx, this is about a 15 mile trip to the park. Some trimes power is parked here sometimes it's round trip. This park is what my layout is based on. I have incorporated approximatly 60 percent of the area. Most of the industries that I am modeling will be reduced by about 30 percent. I have modeled 12 of the 20 industries that they service. I wanted the feel of modern area so the building will be large warehouse style building all to be scratch built.
