Always a problem...

Like Bob, I always have had a problem with the embedded download, though in my case not always with the non-embedded one.  Typically it has taken 2 or 3 tries to get through without a hang.  This time was many many tries.   I have typically used Chrome, but tried with both Firefox and Chrome this time and Firefox  seemed worse for me.  Eventually I did get it.  I use a windows 7 laptop and am running connected wireless to my router.  I have long suspected that the downloader may not be very tolerant of packet errors, which would be likely to be higher via a wireless connection to the router. But I haven't ever tried hardwire connecting to the router to test my theory. Maybe next month I will try that out to see if it makes a difference.

Your new downloader has issues.  Had to look for the old version (flash) to get a file downloaded without errors.

You didn't have to look far, just scroll down a little bit and there it is! We'll keep refining the web downloader -- meanwhile the flash downloader will remain available as well.

If it was not broke why did you have to "fix" it?  Change is inevitable, but not every change is necessary or desirable.
