Let's try this ...
For anyone who may be having download problems, please try these alternative links ...
1. February Landscape Standard Edition, publicly shared via Google Drive
2. February Landscape Standard Edition, using a different encryption method
3. February Landscape Standard Edition, lower-res photos, much smaller file size (30Mb)
Let me know if any of these work for you. From the differences, we can tell what may be the cause of the problem for you.
If #1 works, then it's the network connection over the internet with our servers, and we should make a second backup server (Google Drive) available from now on.
If #2 works, then the encryption options we used this time in Adobe InDesign (slightly different than in the past) that's the problem and we can go back to the old encryption settings - a bit more work, but doable. #2 is hosted on our primary server, so that part hasn't changed.
If #3 works, then it's the larger file size that's the problem. The version in #3 uses the older Gen2 image resolution of 144 DPI instead of 300 DPI. If the file size is causing you problems, then that means there's some kind of bandwidth issue with your internet hosting (at the moment, at least) making really big PDF downloads kind of dicey. #3 is also hosted on our regular primary server.
So for those having problems, please give these alternative links a try and let us know how it goes!

Feb. download
I have every issue of the MRH E-Zine, first time I've had a problem with the download! So, because I still read and download it on a PC, I have to jump through hoops?! I tried all four of the "normal" options and they wouldn't load (I'm running Vista II and Chrome browser), so had to go to the "back of the bus" to download the issue. Alternative #1 worked okay, but still slow.
I think it is the encryption
I think it is the encryption that is causing the problem Joe. I just tried option 2 on my iPad with no problem just using Safari in a new tab. I could not download the posted version without it crashing my browser. My screenshot is on page two of this post. Looks like it might have something to do with Adobe.

February Embedded Version
I am not able to download the February issue, never had problems in the past.
Disappointing – Sigh.
We'll call you
Just give us your phone number and the best time to call and we'll see if we can get it working. Respond to the email we just sent you with your phone number, don't post it on here!

Which version is for desktop computers again?
I need a little reminder. For myself using a Windows desktop computer. I use the Landscape download in the weekly email correct? Emails used to tell you which one your supposed to download for the particular device your using. Just couldn't remember and the current emails do not specify.
Chris.
Standard Edition Worked OK w/Goodreader
Just downloaded the Standard Edition to the newest version of Goodreader 4.9.1 on an old iPad 2 running iOS 8.1.3. Worked just fine over wi-fi.
Only took a minute or two.

It depends
Like many things, the answer is it depends. If your monitor is oriented so it's wider than it is tall (landscape) then use the landscape version. If your monitor is turned the other way so it's taller than it is wide (portrait) then download the portrait one.
Since the magazine is free, you can download both and see which one you prefer, too, you know.
We also put the landscape version FIRST because most computer monitors are landscape ... So you can also just always download the first one and it will be just like it used to be.

Is this happening to anyone else?
I can only remember a few time that I was able to download an issue on the first try. It usually hangs up at some point and times out. Many times, as with Feb., it takes multiple tries, three in this instance. It hung at around 20% and then again at 85%. I am using Firefox and down load the standard landscape edition. Previously, the "computers and tablets standard edition."
I've been putting up with this since the beginning because I eventually get it. I'm just wondering if this widespread or something on my end. I should ad that I've this happens on both my wireless network notebook and my desktop computers.

No Problems
I've never had a download issue with either standard or embedded editions.
