McCook's Landing (photo #6)
I am pretty sure that bridge scene (jets or no jets) is not part of the McCook's Landing layout that was displayed at the 2013 National Train Show.
It is a pretty impressive bridge! :)
Wrong caption
That photo depicts the Potomac Creek Bridge on my O scale home layout. The caption is incorrect. This is not McCook's Landing. The editors did not contact me to vet the caption.
The F-105 jets were inspired by a visit to the layout of a retired USAF Air Force officer who flew those aircraft in Vietnam and elsewhere. It turns out the squadron markings were just right to capture his squadron. I did not know that when I did the photoshop work.
You can find the original post with the correct caption data at this link

For the future
For the future, all Yes It's a Model photos we publish will have an email on file from the owner/modeler/photographer with permission to run the photo and with the vetted caption.
Our intent is to always have our content reviewed and approved by the modeler/photographer. This one that got through was an anomaly that we don't intend to repeat any time soon.
Mistakes happen, and we have apologized to Bernie for this one. It's not our policy to just "lift" content and publish it without talking to you about it first.

ah, Thanks Bernie :)
I see that bridge is featured in the banner on your blog! I thought I'd recognized it and the train certainly looked similar to the one used on McCooks's Landing, just the bridge was too BIG! Interesting story about the jets ... small world eh? Thanks again for the clarification and the link.
I generally don't spend a lot of time on blogs ... thinking I should make an exception for yours. ;) Cheers. Dave O
My USMRR Blog
I have been working on my book, so updates to my USMRR blog have been a little sparse lately. But I hope to get back on the USMRR full speed in December, assuming this book is done and I don't immediately do another one.
In the meantime, here is a image from the current project.

Bernard...
What a fascinating subject for a model railroad! At various times, I've thought about modeling where I've been stationed. Pearl Harbor at the height of WWII would be interesting or even Puget Sound Naval Shipyard now would be interesting, operational prototypes.
WWI Trench RR
The photo shows a section of destroyed light railway on a WWI trench RR. The gif animation was an experiment.
