What sort of rail service would Dog Food Company have?
Guys I need some help trying to figure out where to go with this. Its sort of a tong in cheek idea. I have a little town I am going to build called Porterville. Its named after my Black Lab "Porter". I want to have a Dog Food pant there. In nearby Meadville Pa. we have Dads Dog Food plant. I watched them bring in grain and unload it. But I want to add in livestock to my operations. So we are taking in grain and live animals.....of all sorts.....!
Test plan thoughts for proposed HO model engine performance tests
The activity this week has centered on the research and writing required for a test plan document. This is a formalized manner that forces one to establish the testing objectives and the manner by which those objectives are to be satisfied.
First attempt at layout
Ok, I finally started, sans power pack. No worries, I'm saving up for it. The photos didn't look very good in this blog post, so I took them out.
I am fitting a Kato supplied Unitrack layout onto a door. Later, when I actually get the doors, I'll build the thing. Long-term I will be a second layout while I run trains on this one.
Here is the layout plan

FLAT IRONS VIDEO
As promised this is video that goes with the time lapse slide show. Hope you enjoy.
I am now creating play list of other great modelers videos. This will be the Excellence in Model Railroading section.
It is all Free without commercial interruption.
Curb Appeal
The last remaining area to develop and scenic on my Grimes Line layout, the PDM Spur, is underway. On the prototype the spur parallels Swanson Blvd thru a small commercial/industrial area and ends at Chicago Bridge and Iron, a large mill that fabricates water tanks for commercial, industrial, and government use.
Colorado Reefer
