Grade Crossing Progress

Some progress at the NW 100th/Douglas Avenue crossing on my Iowa Interstate Grimes Industrial Track layout.

EOT Flags

A quick operational update on my IAIS Grimes Line layout as I've started using EOT Flags on trains.

Updated Millard Lumber

About 10 days ago I posted photos of Millard Lumber on my IAIS Grimes Line layout. That structure is now in the garbage. Thanks to some feedback, suggestions and more research I was able to build a better version of the prototype.

Some Small Projects

In between working in the yard this weekend I was able to finish up some smaller projects on my IAIS Grimes Line layout.

First I finished up the switch stands on the Millard Lumber and PharmTech spurs. DW #916 is a close approximation and will work well when I need to modify the targets for the former MILW switch stands in Clive.

Millard Lumber Complete

Jumped the gun a little bit on my last progress report since a styrene slab isn't much to write home about.  But I got around to finishing Millard Lumber on my IAIS Grimes Line layout.  It's nothing amazing but was a great first step in scratch-building and answered a lot of questions before I tackle the larger structures on the layout.

Progress Report - Millard Lumber

I'm currently working on the Millard Lumber warehouse and loading dock on my IAIS Grimes Line layout.  This represents the very first time I've ever scratchbuilt a structure.

Grimes Line Update

Finished up most of the scenery between Hickman Road and Millard Lumber on my IAIS Grimes Line layout.  This is a heavily wooded area on the prototype and I wanted to best simulate the tree tunnel found along the line.

Best,
James
