New shelf layout

So if you look at the dates of last posts, you'll notice that this shelf has been a long time coming.  Now I've got to design the track plan.  The shelf is 16 inches wide, nine and a half feet by six feet.  It can come apart in two four foot and two six foot sections.  Still want to model the NYC in Michigan, somewhere between Owosso and Saginaw.  I am considering a Time Saver or some sort of switching puzzle on part of it for higher interest.  Not really sure yet on what to do with the track plan.

I have been doing some research on the line I want to model, the MC from Owosso Michigan to Paines, Mi.  Here are a few of the things I have found so far.  The Canada Southern site has some great timetables, maybe 1949 will be my year because there are a lot of tables available for my route in that year.  The beaded bells site is great as well, I definitely want to include the town of Henderson on my layout, this site has pictures and stories about many of the downtown buildings, which were trackside.  I am also preparing the layout rooms, almost done re-wiring the la

I figure if I start a blog and work through some of my thoughts, I might get started on this layout quicker.  I am rebuilding a room for my layout and have been thinking about what prototype I would most like to model (HO scale  is most likely).  I grew up near the NYC Bay City, Michigan branch, rode my first train on it, and have a lot of fond memories of the area, so it would be fun to model.  I now live on the UP ex RI Pratt sub, it would also be fun to model, and easy to research, it is right out the window.  I am wondering which one would be more interesting
